For some reason I had to re-register to post??? Anyway.... Sorry it has been so long since I responded. I am going to be 39 in April. I know that there is a risk of EP with IVF, I was told that they would do lap to remove my right and remaining tube and then do IVF to eliminate the risk of an EP. I had a crappy last week, it was the one year anniv of the beginning of our 1st loss. That was hard, I just keep thinking that I should have a 4 month old not 2 EP's down and a bunch of heartache. Oh well. I was not going to try this month since I am travelling next month and don't want to be out of town if it happens again (that happened last time...no fun), but I apparently ovulated yesterday and we did BD on Sat nt, so ???Maybe, of course I am always hopeful!! Well, thank you so much for keeping in touch, you are in my thoughts. Take care of yourself and lets stay positive and encourage eachother. You will know when the time is right for you to try again. I have been back and forward to the hospital for the past 5 weeks! This was my first pregnancy so me & my partner were very excited. After only knowing for less than a week I started to bleed. Light spots at first then nothing for a couple of days and then days later a little more blood. I went to A & E and they took some blood. From these results I was told my hcg levels were about normal for the stage of my pregnancy. I was told not to worry, as I had no other symptoms for miscarriage or an eptopic pregnancy. The doctor said some women can just bleed in pregnancy. The bleeding continued, days later I went for another blood test, my hcg levels had gone up. The doctors said this was positive news. I went for a scan as i was 6 weeks pregnant, It was then that things started to go wrong! I had a scan but they couldn't find anything, I then had an internal scan and again nothing was detected! I was told I had, had a miscarriage. I was very upset and shocked, I didn't understand why me!!! I had to go back for yet more blood tests. They wanted to check that my hcg levels had gone down. After the test I received a call to say my hcg levels had gone down, the doctor said I needed to come in for more blood test before I could be discharged. Again I went along for yet another blood test. This time I found out my hcg levels had gone up. I was then told I was having an eptopic pregnancy. I didn't know much about eptopic pregnancies and the doctors gave me little advice or support just told me my options. (Surgery or the methotrexate injection.)The consultant advised methotrexate. So days later I had the methotrexate injection, waited a week and then went for more blood tests. Bad news it hadn't worked my hcg levels went up again! Had a second dose of methotrexate last week and received good news yesterday my hcg levels have gone down. Got to go back next week for more blood test. I'm worried my hcg levels will go up again! Feel like I have put my family through enough now! Feeling very alone and scared about the future!

It is so very difficult losing a baby. I have no experience of ectopics but I just wanted to say sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have been through a lot in the last 5 weeks. Is that true? My dr said the other tube will take over and move to whatever side is ovulaing? I haven't found much to support this, other than it can happen. I am becoming easily discouraged. We've been trying for 4 months now w/o success and each period is making it more frustrating. Each period gives me a little less hope that it's going to happen. How long did it take everyone else to conceive after a ruptured ep? I had no risk factors for ectopic.

I too had an ectoptic pregnancy a year ago and still trying but to no avail.. I have a 2 year old son though and lost the second one through ectopic, hence the removal of my left tube. My right tube is clear.. got it checked last week. Still trying and I do hope we will be blessed with a child. With regards to Copper 7.. I'm sure you are aware about that being the cause of your ectopic and your loss.. Posts: 1 (16/04/09 06:04 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Hello, this is the first time i have written anything like this, i have not even had the courage to talk to anyone about my ectopic pregnancy, i was 6 weeks pregnant and had planned my babies whole life in the space of 2 weeks. We were so excited as had been trying for years, i am 26 so thought that it would never happen then woo hoo a positive test result. I had cramps and went to the hospital to be told everything was fine, i feel so stupid cause i was talking to my little bean everyday, i felt whole and perfect for the first time in years, then i had another blood test to be told my HCG levels were not doubling. Anyway i guess i knew that something was wrong but tried to stay positive and even prayed! On the 15th march i had the worst pains, thinking it was wind pain i ignored it, the pain got worse and my man had to call an ambulance, got to the hospital they rushed me to the scan room and as i lay there i prayed and wished that the doc would say everything would be fine but she could not find my baby, then after an internal exam she told me coldly that i was having an ectopic pregnancy and it was rupturing my tube and i would have to have emergency surgery to remove my baby and my left tube. That was 3 and a half weeks ago and now i am physically getting stronger again however i really really miss being pregnant, i loved it and was so excited and now i am just left with a painfull scar and no baby, i have to walk around and see women pushing their prams and glowing looking pregnant and i just feel empty. I dont know if or when we will get pregnant again but deep down i want that baby back not another one. My baby was only 6 weeks but i loved it so much if i get pregnant again, i still will never forget my little bean.

I know what you mean, I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my baby on March 9th, and I still waking up and feeling sad knowing that my baby is not with me anymore. People says to me "be glad it happen early in your pregnancy, or it wasn't form yet' and I think those are the stupidest "confort coments" if you can call it like that. He or she was my baby, and will always be in my heart. My daughter wrote something for our baby, but I think this is for all the babies that didn't have the chance and their beautiful mothers. You didn't get to run through puddles, or feel the rain carress your skin... I have been out of the hospital for over a week now after surgery. They saved the right tube. i am 30 yrs old. It is one of the hardest things I have had to endure. I am wanting more children but so scared. I have one two yr old. There are many who are going through the same on here. I am taking this much harder than I ever thought I would. I am scared to concieve again. Even though I have a wonderful loving partner, it still feels lonely and scary.

I too have gone through an ectopic pregnancy like you just 5 weeks ago. My husband and I do not have any children of our own and we were trying to conceive for 18 months before this. We just got the okay from our doctor to try again. we are very nervous but are optimistic. I have done a lot of research on this and although our chances of having another ectopic do increase, it is only by 10-15%. Your prognosis is good. Read some of the success stories in forums like this one. It helps. My friend had a tubal pregnancy and her tube ruptured. She, however, conceived again within 4 months and now has a beautiful baby girl. Please don't let this keep you from having more children. Once you do have that second child, you wouldn't change anything that happened b/c if you didn't have this tubal, you wouldn't have that child. Stay strong!

A little over 2 weeks ago I had Lapriscopic surgery to remove an inch from my right tube and my embryo because it had burst. I hadn't had a "normal" pregnancy all along. I was at 6 or 7 weeks when it burst and all along I was bleeding. My doctor who did the surgery was really nice and she said I was bleeding because it wasn't a normal pregnancy. I will be very cautious next time and demand that they monitor me as soon as they know I am pregnant, because if they had just listened to me in the beginning when I told them I was bleeding, it wouldn't have burst because they could have given me the metho shot. I told them I was bleeding for a week and a half the first time I talked to an OB nurse, and she said it was probably implantation bleeding and maybe from having sex. Uh, no! And then several says went by and I was still bleeding and they finally were smart enough to have me get my HCG levels tested 48 hours apart. The levels went down, so they said you are having a miscarriage. But a week later they had me get another blood test to make sure my levels were going down, but they had sky rocketed, so finally the Doctors thought it was something different than a miscarriage. That along with me feeling so much pain because my tube burst made them finally worry, so I was sent in for a u/s. So, now my question is, it was my right tube that burst, so do I have scar tissue inside my uterus at the opening of my right tube? I know that scarring can be the cause of ectopic pregnancies, so I am wondering if I should be worried. thanks!

You should have a hysterosalpinogram done. It is basically an xray of your tubes and uterus to ensure they are patent. It is a little uncomfortable but worth it. good luck
